Ask Standard Legal

How Should Continuations of Schedules and Other Bankruptcy Documents Be Structured?

Standard Legal recommends that a person with a large number of debtors who is filing Bankruptcy create separate continuation sheets for each type of debt, using the stock continuation sheet provided.

For example, you could create a continuation sheet for “Domestic Support Obligation” and then print that sheet to paper and/or save that sheet to your computer as “Domestic Support Obligation - Continuation Sheet” (using the “Save As” function rather than a simple “Save”).

Then, simply re-open the stock continuation sheet again provided with Schedule E and prepare your continuation sheet for “Taxes and Certain Other Debts Owed to Governmental Units.”  Then, print and/or save that page to your computer as “Taxes and Certain Other Debts Owed to Governmental Units - Continuation Sheet.”

You can do this for as many continuation sheets that you wish.
