CREATE THE LEGAL DOCUMENTS YOU NEED IN MINUTES -- WITHOUT THE EXPENSE OF AN ATTORNEY
Put the assets of your family's estate into a Revocable Living Trust! For years, financial planners and attorneys have used Trusts as a way to ensure that property is protected and passed on from one generation to the next. A Revocable Living Trust provides a safe and legal way to manage assets during your lifetime and upon your death. This easy-to-use software from Standard Legal includes all of the documents, overviews, and instructions necessary to create a Joint Trust, a Single Trust or an A/B Trust!
REVOCABLE LIVING TRUST LEGAL FORMS SOFTWARE
A Living Trust allows you to legally decide two important issues regarding your wealth: how you want your assets and property managed while you are alive, and how you want your assets and property distributed after your death.
A Living Trust can provide for the distribution of property upon your death, just like a Will. But a Living Trust is more effective in many ways: a Will only takes effect upon death, while a Revocable Living Trust provides the same ability to determine asset distribution upon death AND provides a tool for protecting and managing property and assets during your lifetime!
A Living Trust empowers a designated Trustee to manage the trust's assets and property for the benefit of you and your family. The Trustee can be anyone you choose -- including yourself! The asset management in a Living Trust covers any number of financial or property-based transactions: making one-time or recurring cash payments to a beneficiary; transferring assets upon a designated date; making financial moves under a specific set of circumstances; etc.
Further, should you become physically or mentally incapacitated, a Living Trust is critical: it allows you to designate how you want your estate handled without any direct court intervention or supervision. You stay in control of your assets by making decisions and outlining them within the Trust in advance of any incapacitation! The Probate Court is kept out of the management of your estate!
Upon your death, the successor Trustee that you appoint within the Living Trust will act much like the executor of a Will: the Trustee will gather your assets; will pay any valid debts, claims and taxes; and will distribute your property and assets as you have clearly directed. More importantly, the structure of a Living Trust means the assets are owned by the Trust and are not part of the deceased person's estate -- so there is usually no need for a Probate Court's approval before the transfer. As such, the often time-consuming and costly probate process can be avoided!
SINGLE TRUSTS, JOINT TRUSTS, AND A/B TRUSTS
Standard Legal's Living Trust software allows you to determine the type of Trust desired, based completely on your personal situation. Using the comprehensive information and instructions provided, you determine the type of Trust that makes the most sense for you and your family. Pick from any of these Trust structures, as all are included in the software:
- Revocable Joint Trust for Married Persons with Children: For use by married couples with children who wish to provide income to themselves while both are alive, then income to the surviving spouse upon the death of one spouse, and finally to transfer said property to children/beneficiaries after the death of the remaining spouse so as to avoid probate issues. This Trust is most ideal for married couples whose assets totals less than $5,000,000, as all such property will generally pass under the marital tax credit (although the laws concerning such credits are constantly changing).
- Revocable Joint Trust for Married Persons without Children: This document allows a married couple without children to establish a Trust with a specifically-named beneficiary, to allow that couple to pass along their estate to a charity, a non-relative, a favorite cause, etc.
- Revocable Trust for Non-Married Persons with Children: For use by a single person who wants to provide income to himself during his life, and then transfer property to children/beneficiaries after death so as to avoid probate issues and Probate Court.
- Revocable Trust for Non-Married Persons without Children: For use by a single person who wants to provide income to him during his life, and then transfer property after death to the persons that are named as designated beneficiaries. This Trust type is useful for those people who do not have children, or who do not want to transfer property to their children, or who merely want additional flexibility in the transfer of property after their death so as to avoid probate.
- Revocable A/B Trust: For use by married couples with estates that are valued over $5,000,000. The A/B Trust structure allows the maker to take advantage of or maximize certain marital estate tax credits, the amount of which is $5,000,000 for 2012 (although temporary portability may make this amount higher in certain situations). Note that this amount is subject to change by Congress, so see the included A/B Trust overviews for details.
Once the type of Trust that best suits your personal situaiton is determined, you may begin to create the Living Trust documents necessary by completing the fill-in-the-blank legal forms that are provided within the software. These legal forms include:

WHAT CUSTOMERS SAY: STANDARD LEGAL REVOCABLE LIVING TRUST
Just a note to thank you for your help with my Living Trust. I didn't expect such a quick reply! I really appreciate your fast, friendly service and easy-to-follow instructions. I think we've found an efficient and dependable company in Standard Legal! Best wishes...
-- Deanna Pozesny, Elizabethtown KY
After receiving my Living Trust software from you, it has made what I want to do with my properties so much easier, knowing the guidelines now. I live in a small town where we have more attorneys than businesses! But none of the attorneys could do my document work for me, saying they did not do "Trusts". I would have had to go to another town to get a Trust done, at a very high cost. Once I found out about Standard Legal, I am now about a month away from putting my properties into a trust, as to my wishes. Thank you once again!
-- Jim Shelton, Vanceburg KY
I am quite pleased with the simplicity of the forms. I have generated the Living Trust and I am ready to go to the next step. The document format was exactly what I was looking for.
-- Nigel Watson, Martinez CA
I am pleased with the value of the Living Trust purchase and I would say that Standard Legal has met my needs. I set out to purchase the Suze Orman kit, but it was difficult to find so I explored further and found yours. Your kit appeared to be a better value than the Suze Orman kit.
-- Rob Brock, Happy Valley OR
I downloaded your software for Living Trust about one month ago. I have been working with it ever since and am finally realizing I am going to be able to write our Trust without paying large lawyer fees. I am satisfied with what I bought.

SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS & SOFTWARE FILE SPECIFICATIONS:
Standard Legal's software works on nearly all systems, including Windows, Apple, Mac, Android and Linux. A link to a downloadable .zip file is presented immediately after transaction, which must be expanded to access all of the forms, overviews and instructions. Most computers have a program like WinZip pre-installed to access .zip files; if your computer does not have one, we recommend StuffIt Expander (it's FREE!).
Generally, the legal forms are provided in three formats: Microsoft Word files, standard text files, and Adobe PDF files. TO GET A DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE FUNCTIONALITY THESE FORMATS AND FULLY-WORKING SAMPLES, CLICK HERE. Note that not all forms are provided in all three formats in all cases.
The fully-featured version of Microsoft Word is required to complete the Word-formatted forms. Other open-source and commercial word processing programs like Microsoft Works, WordPerfect, Word Pad, OpenOffice, Google Docs, Note Pad or Simple Text may be used as well, but only with the 'straight text' version of the forms. Finally, the PDF versions of the forms require the download and installation of either Adobe's Acrobat Reader (it's FREE!) or the full commercial version of Adobe Acrobat.
Access to the password-protected online legal forms server (sometimes called "the online version") requires an up-to-date web browser like Internet Explorer, Firefox or Chrome. Once you access the online forms server, read the instructions provided on the main menu and download only the specific legal forms, overviews and instructions you need. Once all of the files are downloaded, they may be completed offline using the programs listed above.
To use any type of software requires a basic understanding of how a computer device operates. To use Standard Legal software, you must be able to complete each of these basic computer tasks: download a software file; expand a .zip file; enter a username and password to access a protected website; navigate a menu; install and launch a program; and open, save then print a completed document. If you do not fully understand how to complete any of these common steps, we recommend you use our Document Preparation Service or find a local attorney to create documents for you.
